HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE “MALE G-SPOT”? IT’S ANOTHER NAME FOR THE PROSTATE AND IT’S A MAJOR EROGENOUS ZONE. BUT IT’S AN AREA THAT HAS BEEN LARGELY UNEXPLORED BY MOST PEOPLE.

On this episode, Sara and Prescott Gaylord (http://prescottgaylord.com), an improv actor and intimacy co-ordinator, go on a journey to explore everything in prostate play.

First, we discuss what a prostate is, where you can find it, and the benefits of stimulating it for pleasure. Prescott shares his personal experiences of prostate orgasms, which feel longer lasting and more full-bodied than traditional ejaculatory orgasms.

We alleviate the most common fears and concerns around prostate play, discussing general hygiene and safety practices, and warm-up techniques. And we discuss one of the most commonly heard myths - whether prostate play makes you gay.

Prescott and Sara exchange practical tips around toys, lube, and what to have around your space before exploring prostate play.

We also role play how to find the prostate, with the consent and communication cues necessary for anyone who is interested in trying this kind of play for the first time.

Tune into this episode to learn more about using the prostate to heighten sexual pleasure and explore the possibilities of the male orgasm. It may change your bedroom dynamics forever.

TIPS FOR EXPLORING PROSTATE PLAY

Prep for Cleanliness

As a safety and hygiene measure, cleaning around and inside the anal cavity with a soapy finger or an anal douche beforehand might make you feel more comfortable.

Get Lubed Up

Get whatever you need ready. That could be a prostate toy, the lube of your choice, and possibly also finger condoms or gloves.

Go Slow and Breathe Deeply

Start by stimulating the anus externally before inserting a toy or finger. Upon insertion, wait for the body to grow accustomed to the sensation. Consciously breathing allows you to be more present with the sensations at the same time.

Communicate Clearly

If you’re exploring with a partner, check in with them about the movements and accompanying sensations. Make sure you tell your partner if anything feels uncomfortable.

Locate the Prostate

Feel around for a rounded lump of tissue about 2 inches within the rectum. Lightly press, stroke or massage this to see what feels good.

Combine Prostate & Penis Stimulation

Try combining different stimulation for greater arousal. Experiment with changing the rhythm, tempo, pressure, speed and position.

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE EPISODE

“The actual prostate is a gland that is found in the male body, it’s embedded in a pelvic floor in the anal canal. The prostate roll is a secret of fluid that protects the sperm. The prostate is essential for sexual health and function and plays a central role in male ejaculation. It also has many nerve endings and can be sometimes called the males’ ‘G-Spot’ and stimulating can be highly pleasurable.”

“The benefits of prostate play include the pleasure of stimulation, the release of inflammation (prostatitis), and it brings more blood to the pelvic area. It also allows any prostate owner to reach multiple non-ejaculatory orgasms. If you masturbate and release these glands there may even be a possible reduction of prostate cancer as it is correlated with reduction of prostatitis.”

“There is an important question to be asked - ‘why would you involve prostate stimulation in your sex life?’ It is also one way of learning how to decouple these two different types of male orgasms and be able to differentiate between them. It is a fun skill to develop and experience multiple orgasms as well.”

“I mean the thing is, it either feels good or it doesn’t. And definitely, you should not do the things if it does not feel good to you for sure. So as far as that goes, if it’s not comfortable and you can’t make it work, it’s not pleasurable for you, there is no reason to try to make this work, in my opinion. If you just feel like “this wasn't designed for that”, what I would say is for some reason prostate stimulation leading to orgasm or during orgasm is pleasurable for many many people who have prostates. So whatever the design is I don't know, but the experience of it is very mind-blowingly wonderful for a lot of people, including me.”

“It is important to communicate what the other person is okay with and that you are both comfortable doing. You never need to push through anything in order to receive pleasure. You have to be comfortable with giving and receiving the instructions. Using more words to describe your next move can feel very reassuring as well, especially when you are practicing the prostate play for the very first time.”
